1. Products covered

These terms apply to all Ariv Studios products:

• Ariv - Personal knowledge management
• Adoro - Focus timer (macOS, iOS, Android)
• AuraFi - Soundscape player
• Future products in the Ariv Studios ecosystem

2. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using any Ariv Studios product, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

3. License grant

When you purchase or download our software, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Install and use the software on your personal devices
• Use the software for personal or commercial work
• Make backup copies for archival purposes

4. License scope

Ariv (desktop): Free to use on unlimited personal computers you own.

Mobile apps: May offer free and premium tiers. Subscriptions follow Apple/Google account policies.

Device limits: You may install our software on any devices you personally own. Sharing licenses with others is not permitted.

5. Your data

• Ownership: You retain full ownership of all content you create. We claim no rights to your data.
• Local by default: All data is stored locally on your device. If you opt in to end-to-end encrypted sync, your content is encrypted on your device before upload - our servers store only encrypted data we cannot read. See our Privacy Policy for details.
• Portability: Your data is stored in standard formats (Markdown, JSON) that you can use with any tool.

6. Pricing and subscriptions

Ariv (desktop) - Free tier: Free to use. The full app, including all features, is available at no cost. You bring your own AI provider key (or run a local model) and manage your own sync.

Ariv add-on tiers (Sync, Sync + AI): Recurring subscriptions billed monthly or annually at the rates shown on our pricing page. Add-on tiers cover managed infrastructure (encrypted sync hosting and managed AI usage). Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancelling stops future renewals and you keep add-on access until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds: A 14-day money-back guarantee applies to first-time paid subscriptions. See our refund policy for full details.

Taxes: Our payment processor acts as Merchant of Record and collects and remits any applicable VAT, GST, or sales tax in your jurisdiction. The price shown at checkout reflects the tax-inclusive amount where required by local law.

Mobile apps: Processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Subject to Apple/Google refund policies, not this policy.

7. Restrictions

You may not:

• Share, sell, or distribute your license to others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
• Remove or modify any proprietary notices
• Use the software to build a competing product

8. Third-party services

AI features: If you use AI features, you connect directly to a third-party provider (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic) using your own API key. Their terms apply.

Payment processing: Desktop subscriptions are processed by our payment processor, acting as Merchant of Record. They handle card processing, billing, tax collection and remittance, and customer payment data. Mobile purchases are processed by Apple or Google through the respective app stores. Their respective terms apply to payment transactions.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

11. Updates and support

• Bug fixes and updates are provided free of charge
• Mobile app updates included with active subscription
• Best-effort email support at support@ariv.one

12. Termination

By you: Stop using the software anytime. Uninstall and delete your data. Cancel mobile subscriptions through your device settings.

By us: We may terminate your license if you violate these terms.

13. General

• Governing law: Province of Ontario, Canada (Ariv Studios is a Canadian sole proprietorship). Exclusive of conflict-of-law rules.
• Seller: Ariv Studios (a Canadian sole proprietorship). Contact: support@ariv.one.
• Merchant of Record: For desktop subscription purchases, our payment processor acts as Merchant of Record. Their checkout terms govern the payment transaction and will be displayed at checkout.
• Entire agreement: These terms plus our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
• Changes: We may modify these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
